1. Will my treatment hurt?
These days, there is no reason why a visit to any dentist’s office should be painful. At our practice, Dr. Martinson has carefully selected dental instruments that will help us work efficiently while you remain comfortable. We also offer a variety of amenities, such as sedation, to help you feel relaxed and at-ease throughout your visit.
Best of all, Dr. Martinson is a gentle, easy-going dentist who focuses on your comfort. During your visit, she takes the time to get to know you, put you at ease, and establish your trust. Many patients love the fact that Dr. Martinson takes the time to explain a procedure, discuss alternatives, and even walk you through a treatment so you feel less nervous.
If you have had a painful dental experience in the past, schedule a consultation with Dr. Martinson by calling 817.618.3372. Not only will she help you receive the comfortable, caring treatment you need, but Dr. Martinson can help you have a beautiful and healthy smile.
2. I have a space between my teeth. Can Dr. Martinson fix it?
Yes. Dr. Martinson can close gaps or spaces with composite bonding, porcelain crowns, or porcelain veneers. With crowns, we place a natural-looking cap that covers the tooth to the gum line. While most crowns strengthen weakened or cracked teeth, Dr. Martinson can use the crown to make your teeth appear wider to close the gap.
With veneers, Dr. Martinson places thin, fingernail-like layers of porcelain over the surface of your teeth. These can lengthen or widen the appearance of your teeth to remove gaps or spaces in your smile.
To recommend the best method for you, Dr. Martinson needs to examine your mouth.
3. Can you bond a crooked tooth to improve the appearance?
It depends on the tooth and the alignment of your teeth. While Dr. Martinson wants to help you have a beautiful smile, she is also concerned about how a bonded tooth may affect the alignment of your teeth or the balance of your bite. Before she bonds, she may refer you to an orthodontist first to check for problems. If your teeth and bite are aligned and the bonding will maintain this balance, Dr. Martinson can bond the tooth to improve the appearance of your smile.
4. I am missing teeth. Am I a good candidate for dental implants?
Yes. If you’re in fairly good dental and overall health, it’s likely that you are a good candidate for dental implants. Best of all, dental implants have one of the highest success rates in oral surgery.
If you have lived with missing teeth, were a long-time denture wearer, or have had gum disease, Dr. Martinson’s main concern is that you have enough healthy gum tissue to place the implants. Once she has examined your mouth, she will recommend treatments to help your dental implant surgery be successful.
